This track is so creative. I especially love the mashup of the Super Mario underground theme music with the Mission Impossible theme. I also loved the mashup of "Shining Star" and Super Mario star theme.
While I think I prefer Diana Krall's version of this song, I like this one too. I got interested in Karrin Allyson when I discovered her "Everybody's Boppin'," and I'd been meaning to go back to the well and explore her work further. This is bluesy instead of boppy, and she handles it well.
As the calendar reminds me, Wednesdays are for downtempo, ambient, trance, and electronic tracks. This is a great track from my own library. I love this whole album for a nice downtempo afternoon.
Tuesdays, I've been reminded, are for vintage and classic rock and pop tracks. This is one I've been wanting to post for a while. Such a great reminder of high school and college days.
This was a pop find that Pandora made for me recently. I don't think I have ever heard it before. It's catchy and it's got lots of layers. When I listened to it again with the idea of posting it here, I thought it seemed a bit too smooth, too synthetic at first. But I still liked it.
I discovered this track just playing around on Grooveshark. It's a cover of a song that I hadn't heard before by a group I hadn't heard before. I listened to the original, and loved it, so I'm planning to do some more exploration of that band. But I think I like this cover just a little better.
Summer is here again. Last summer, I started this blog with the hope of discovering and rediscovering great music. After fall rolled around and I got to the landmark of 100 posts, I set the project aside. But now that summer is back, so am I. Woohoo!
I recently discovered Ferras. This album - Aliens and Rainbows - came out in 2008, and the whole album is great. I don't know how I never heard it before. It's exactly the kind of music I hoped to discover when I started this project. It's upbeat, creative, and fun.
